2013 Boxer Meetup & Bottle Drive

What a fabulous turnout for Saturday's Boxer Meetup!!  We had about 30 Boxers come out for the event throughout the day. It was perfect weather, as it wasn't too hot or too cool.  And the rain stayed away!

It was wonderful to see all the familiar faces and the new ones as well. All those wiggle butts were well behaved and seemed to understand the nature of the meeting.  Lots of kisses and so much fun was had by all!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Bottle Drive to help with the medical bills for Pearl & Tripp.  It truly is amazing to see the generosity and kindness that everyone has in their hearts.

TRIPP

PEARL

Tripp and Pearl are both doing very well.  Everyone got to see firsthand exactly how well they are doing!  The kids made sure that tons of kisses were given to everyone.  They are forever grateful to you for enabling WBBR to help them.

A BIG Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted with this event.  Many volunteers spent the weeks leading up to the event, by driving to pickup donated empties and returning them to the depot.  The biggest haul of course was on Saturday.  It filled the U-Haul truck completely!!   We are still tallying up all the donations and the bottles, as you can well imagine it will take some time to sort thru it all!  But we will keep you posted.  We are estimating the donations to be close to $2000.

We are hoping to do another fundraiser next month.  And of course our Annual Pub Night is set for Sunday, August 25th.  So mark your calendars!!!

Here are some pics from the Boxer Meetup.  To see more pictures please visit the WBBR Facebook group .

Thanks again everyone for your continued love and support.  It's because of you that we are able to help so many dogs in need!

Tigger is an chilled out older dude who has found himself without a home due to no fault of his own. Yep Tigger is a senior, but don't tell him that!! He's as spry and active as a young puppy!! Tigger deserves a nice retirement home to call his own. This boy would love to be your forever guy. Don't you want to love him forever?

Tigger is doing amazing in his foster home. He has come a long way. He has learnt to walk very nicely on a leash and enjoys going out for his daily walks to say hello to everyone in the neighbourhood. He has learnt many new commands. He knows sit, stay, come and lay down. He is such a really good boy and just needs some where to call home. This boy is ready to go home!

If you are interested in adopting Tigger, please visit our site and fill out an adoption application www.wbbr.ca and a volunteer will be in touch.

We also have volunteers who are willing to do pickups in certain communities beforehand. If you need this service, please email us at info.wbbr@gmail.com with your address. PLEASE DO MAKE IT WORTH OUR WHILE for the pickup! Get the message out to your friends, families, neighbours & everyone you know. Leave in your drive way and we will do our best for early morning pickups! Invite as many people as you like. Lots of Boxer Loving to be had!!

More Boxers Home!

We had another fabulous weekend visiting our friends in the LA sunshine.  Its always a whirlwind and such a busy few days.  It's hard work but all so worth it when you see the end result.

WBBR is grateful to have such a long time friendship with BRLA.  We work closely together on the one goal.  That one goal is to find great homes for Boxers in need.

This weekend was no exception.  6 dogs were flown from LA to Vancouver.

Welcome to Canada:

-Keely
- Zoey
- Foxie
- Harley
- Princess
- Trinket

There truly is nothing more rewarding than seeing these dogs go to wonderful and loving homes.

Thank you to all our adopters who were patiently working with us all weekend and for being so flexible and accomodating.  Rescuing is one of the greatest gifts that you can do for a dog.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

And of course we thank Boxer Rescue LA for what they do.  Rescue is often very difficult and can be at times very heart breaking.  But it truly is one of the most rewarding!
